Nicey Eagles erupt in fourth quarter to stun MR Water, 43–36

The Nicey Eagles completed a dramatic fourth-quarter turnaround to defeat MR Water Refilling Station, 43–36, in Week 2 of the SBL Mactan Territorial Clash.

MR Water appeared to have control of the game through three quarters. After trailing by one, 13–12, in the opening period, MR Water responded in the second quarter and held Nicey to just five points to take a 22–18 advantage into halftime.

MR Water continued to dictate the game in the third, outscoring the Eagles 11–6 and stretching its advantage to nine points, 33–24, heading into the final period.

Then everything changed.

Nicey delivered its best basketball when it mattered most, exploding for 19 points in the fourth quarter while holding MR Water to only three. The 19–3 closing-quarter demolition completely erased the nine-point deficit and turned it into a seven-point Nicey victory, 43–36.

Alexander Inoc III powered the Eagles' comeback with an outstanding all-around performance. Inoc finished with a game-high 17 points, six rebounds, four steals and two assists while committing zero turnovers. He shot an efficient 7-of-9 from the field, including 2-of-4 from beyond the arc.

Enerlan Monsourrey added seven points and two steals for Nicey, while Rizaldy Singculan contributed four points, three rebounds and three steals. The Eagles finished with 10 steals as a team and knocked down four three-pointers.

MR Water was led by Aziel Arong with nine points and three rebounds, while Jessie James Flores finished with eight points, four rebounds and two assists. John Taghoy contributed four points, four rebounds and three steals.

Despite MR Water shooting 47% from the field compared with Nicey's 46%, the Eagles found their advantage from beyond the arc. Nicey made four three-pointers while MR Water went 0-for-5 from three-point territory. Nicey also held a slight advantage in rebounds, 22–20, and steals, 10–7.

The victory gives Nicey Eagles a 1–0 start to their campaign, while MR Water falls to 0–2.
