GABI GYM — Templar opened Week 1 with a hard-fought 54–49 victory over MR Water Refilling Station, surviving a furious fourth-quarter comeback after building a commanding lead early in the game.Templar came out strong, dominating the opening period 22–7. Their pressure continued in the second quarter as they added 12 points while holding MR Water to just seven. Templar entered halftime with a 34–14 advantage, putting themselves firmly in control of the game.

But MR Water refused to go away. After Templar carried a 44–25 lead into the fourth quarter, MR Water exploded offensively, scoring 24 points in the final period. The late surge cut the deficit to just five, but Templar remained composed enough to protect the lead and secure the victory.

Raphael Tallo led the way for Templar and was named Player of the Game following an efficient performance.

Tallo finished with 17 points, 7 rebounds, and 5-of-7 shooting from the free-throw line, while knocking down 6 of his 7 field-goal attempts.

His efficient scoring gave Templar a reliable offensive option throughout the game and helped establish the team's early advantage.

Jeffrey Villamin and Kim Charlemagne Oracion also provided major contributions, scoring 12 points each.

TEMPLAR DOMINATES THE BOARDS

Templar's control of the glass played a major role in the victory.

The team collected 33 rebounds, including 15 offensive rebounds, compared to MR Water's 22 total rebounds.

Templar also recorded 9 steals and 2 blocks, creating extra possessions and keeping MR Water's offense under pressure for much of the game.

MR Water finally found its rhythm in the final period.

Aziel Arong and Redze Lawrence Lenizo led the comeback with 13 points apiece. Lenizo was especially efficient, shooting a perfect 5-of-5 from the field.

MR Water outscored Templar 24–10 in the fourth quarter, turning a seemingly comfortable game into a tense finish.

However, Templar's huge first-half advantage proved decisive.

The final buzzer sounded with Templar still on top, 54–49.
